Domestic Violence Awareness

The members of Alpha Chi Omega @ UCR hold philanthropy very close to their hearts. Our chapter is pleased to continue our partnerships with various philanthropic organizations in the area, and we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of many. Together, we work to fight against unhealthy relationships and build healthy relationships. Members serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through fundraising and sharing gifts of time and talent with shelters and other service-providing organizations. Alpha Chi Omega also works to educate its own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships, and to raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on its impact and work being done to end it.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In 1997, a court justice overturned a rape conviction because the justice thought her jeans were "too tight" therefore, she had gave the offender consent to take them off. On April 25th,  wearing jeans is a symbol of protest against that ruling. We wear jeans with a purpose to support survivors and raise awareness towards sexual assault. During April, members also support the victims and survivors of sexual assault by creating a jean display and hosting events on campus with educational information to promote awareness.
